Tougher Than COVID

“Last week, Arizona launched its statewide COVID-19 prevention program with RIESTER's “Tougher Than COVID" campaign. This is the first campaign chosen for Governor Doug Ducey's new public health communications strategy. I feel honored to say, after multi-state casting, I was selected as the English voice for the tough, boxing-driven commercial. 

What most don’t know about me is that in addition to spending well over a decade inside the booth, I’ve spent an equal amount of time inside boxing gyms. Contrary to what I formerly believed, fighters are the nicest group of people I’ve ever met. A different mentality? No doubt! They sign a waiver. Society’s rules don’t exist inside the gym. If you give a sharp glare or say an unkind word, punches might start flying. The irony is, because of that unspoken consequence, everybody is nice, 100% of the time!

As a voice actor, I was able to tap into that boxing mentality and bring a stronger sense of truth to the Governor’s campaign. I can’t begin to express how grateful I am to continue working during such a trying time, especially with such an awesome creative team!
